Advocacy Lab: What's Safe, What's Needed, What Works

  • Brico Works 315 West 1st Street, Suite 204 Duluth, MN, 55802 United States (map)

Nonprofits are feeling the pressure—from shifting policies and funding cuts to growing scrutiny around how we talk about our work.

The Advocacy Lab is a conversational, panel-style session where we’ll explore these questions together. Panelists will share real-world insights and strategies from their work in nonprofit leadership, communications, advocacy, and systems change. This session isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating space for honest conversation, peer learning, and collective clarity.

We’ll talk about:

  • How to lift up our stories and impact amid the noise

  • Navigating pushback on values-based messaging (like DEI)

  • What feels needed and possible in this moment

  • How we support each other in uncertainty

You'll hear from:
💡 Dori Rapaport (Justice North) – Advocacy & Experience in Navigating Policy
💡 Kate Van Daele (Minnesota Power) – Communications & Government Affairs
💡 Megan Bremmon (Generations Healthcare Initiatives) – Advocacy & Systems Change
💡 Amber Sadowski (Life House) – Executive Director Perspective

Please note: This session is grounded in lived experience and professional insight. No legal advice will be given.

This is a space for honest conversation and actionable insights on how nonprofits can advocate effectively while protecting their mission, team, and values.

🎟 Free to attend. RSVP required.
